Hello all! Just a quick announcement that our new lovely blog has just gone live. We are so excited about the format! We have many, many sneak peeks and stories to share. We will be posting all throughout our vacation…. so go check it out and let us know what you think! The new blog url is www.aephotographyblog.com/3 — so it’s the same as this plus a “3″ at the end. We chose three because it’s our 3rd (and hopefully final!) blog. Looking forward to your feedback!!

We received a comment from an upset voter who feels there has been some cheating, and I wanted to go ahead and address that. We put the moderation up so we can check for duplicate votes/voters before they get posted to prevent that, but sometimes once we accept, it allows that person to comment again without moderation. That is what happened in the case of 5 or 6 votes from the same person, and we apologize for that.

I want everyone to be aware that while you may see duplicates that slipped passed us, don’t feel like what you see will definitely be the end result. The reason the announcement of the winner is going to be made Monday and is not just obviously known by reviewing the comment box is because we will be be meticulously going through each and every comment and deleting those that appear to be duplicates in any way. We want this to be 100% fun and fair. I know the “1 vote per person” was not stated in the contest info. I assumed everyone would figure to only vote once out of fairness, plus I knew we would be going through all of the votes at the end anyway ; )

That said, I know tomorrow is the last day for voting, so I’m sure we will be getting a slew of last minute votes–which is wonderful! I just wanted to post this bit of info before then so you can be sure to only vote once. Be fair to everyone else in the contest. Keep it honest and fun! We have been amazed at all of the votes and how the blog has 1000 or more hits a day Horray! We hope all of you continue to follow the blog!

Another thing people have been emailing about is to make sure the votes that we posted in another blog post comment section get counted. We will definitely make sure to include all of those Now worries!

Also, as stated in the comments awhile back, if you voted and have facebook–please click the “become a fan” link at te top of our page or click here and become a fan of ae photography. It really helps spread the word about the contest and our business, plus you will be able to see our future contests right away. The next one is in April!

Have a fun final voting day! We have weddings today and tomorrow, so please be patient if you don’t see your vote posted for a bit. It is there–we just have to accept it first. Looks like we beat 100 comments (haha) so there will be something for 4th and 5th place, as well! Thanks again to each and everyone of you who has taken place in the contest and made it so successful!

N E W T H I N G S F O R 2 0 1 0 :

MONDAYS: inspirational post. We are always on the hunt for things that inspire us. After starring at a screen night and day, always clicking the same buttons, moving the same bars, watermarking, resizing, uploading, yadda yadda–we can get in a fog easily. As soon as we see something lovely, something brilliant, we are motivated to keep going and to do better. Might as well share our inspirational finds with you, right? Keep in mind that it is not always photography that gets us pumped… art and colors and stunning blogs… there are many things. We hope you will enjoy them as much as we do!

TUESDAYS: tip post. We have website and blog messages quite often asking us for tips on how we do things around here. These many not come every Tuesday, but we will try our best! We will mix it up and give you some pro tips along with some tips for just catching some great snapshots of your everyday life. We are not ones to act like we are full of knowledge… and I’m pretty sure you will never find us doing mentor sessions and hosting workshops (but who knows, maybe my thoughts on that will change in the future)… but everyone likes quick little tips and ideas to make any camera give them some neat shots.

WEDNESDAYS: ae wedding post. So we aren’t the best when it comes to posting weddings, and I know I’ve explained my reasons for this before. It’s 2010, however, and I am going to, as Tim Gunn would say, make it work. So maybe I won’t be able to do “full wedding” posts every time as I prefer to do, but I will just have to deal with it. I know couples are dying to get a glimpse of their day just as soon as they possibly can, so that is something that is going to happen. It may only be a couples shots, but it will be done. So prepare to get sick of wedding fast, because we have stuff to post all the way back from May 2009. It should be fun!

THURSDAYS: thoughtful post. This day will be dedicated to random posts, whether they be personal or info about ae photography, they will give you a little insight into our lives, what we are up to, or what’s new with the business.

FRIDAYS: fabulous wedding post. Of course I had to squeeze in a posting day for weddings. I do so love them. I love looking at wedding blogs, funky + unique wedding ideas… and basically just stylish weddings in general. I know many of our followers are planning weddings, so I figured these posts might give them some great inspiration. I will feature great Etsy designers, helpful wedding articles I may stumble across, ideas we’ve seen at weddings that have totally stood out, neato gowns (because I love to look at those!), and pretty palette ideas… and whatever else I think of. Sound good? Hope so.

SATURDAYS: who knows. Obviously Saturdays are our busiest days, so blog posts can be quite tricky. We barely get time to eat and sleep. You can expect twitter updates with wedding details, though–and those are always interesting, right? If we are not completely busy, we will try to post a little somethin’ somethin’ on here. I guess it will be called a “wild card day”.

SUNDAYS: session post. Engagements, seniors, trash the dress, maternity, family + many more… all of those things are possible. We have plenty backed up to share, so this day won’t go post-less for awhile. Unless I take a nap or something. Sounds amazing right about now.

I planned and organized an invitation only Boudoir Event for January 10, 2010. We are planning on launching a new boudoir/fashion portrait website at some point in 2010, and I was trying to come up with the best way to get a bunch of new material for the site in a short amount of time. We had a handful of bookings for the event, but I had to cancel it due to the Chicago hotel idea not working out as planned. I just noticed about 10 minutes ago that we are booked for a promotional event all day that day. It would have been my loss (no clients are involved) if I had missed it! Thank goodness things happened the way the did!

I decided I would just postpone it and focus on other things… but, as I sit here, I’m feeling a little disappointed. I was really looking forward to the event–something new + different… a style of photography I really love shooting. I love “fashion/model” photography. While editing my butt off today, I have been thinking of a way to open the event back up again. I will have to change the date, of course. The new one will not be invite-only and will not be labeled as “boudoir”–I know that can scare people!

Our “boudoir” does not have to be ask risque as people assume all boudoir is. It’s about getting all fancied up (or down–whatever works for you). It’s about getting some beautiful shots of yourself to give your guy as a surprise gift. The Boudoir Event was meant for a Valentine’s gift for 2010 for the special man in your life. Think pajama bottoms + a tank top…. boxers + a t-shirt…. cozy, cute and beautiful. I’m thinking a range between Sear catalog sleepwear and Maxim magazine. You choose where you want to be. Haha. Eric is not involved what-so-ever… just me!

I had so many things lined up that all came together so wonderfully, I would hate to just flush the opportunity away! I will be so much fun for anyone who does join me for the new “event”! I have changed the packages a bit, so here is what you would be getting:

*professional hair + makeup

*snacks + beverages while you prep and hang out

*NEW!* amazing, amazing, amazing selection of handmade boudoir items, lingerie, cozy sleepwear, and some fun + funky clothing. Over a dozen designers have signed up to send in their items for you to use so far! If you would like links to view some of the wonderful pieces that you will be able to play dress up with, just send me an email! :)

*lovely handmade accessories–also from independent designers (hairpieces, headpieces, etc.)

*30 minutes of shoot time with yours truly

*pre-session online consult with ashley to discuss the style/s you like most + share some favorite found images you like the look of!

*private online gallery to view an order prints!

Here is the NEW part: There will be no sitting fee! Horray! The last event had a $499 fee.

I’m guessing those of you who signed up are pretty excited now! This is what is changing:

***All of your edited images will be available in your Online Gallery. From there, you can order an album for your guy, your favorite prints, a giant poster for your living room (hahaha)–there will a bunch of options for you. You can also order the Photo Disc with release rights or rights to individual images of your choice! So basically, you book your time slot, show up and get pampered + lovely, have a fun session with me + get an online gallery all for free. If, in the end, you decide you don’t want to order any of the photos–that’s fine with me. I just want this event to HAPPEN!! Email me if you would like to attend. I know many ladies wanted to attend the other event, but money was too tight at the moment (trust me, I know the feeling) — so I’m thinking this is a great opportunity for everyone! You will still have time to create an awesome Valentine’s Day gift for your guy! The location is not set quite yet, but it will be in the area (it may very well be in my home studio!) Help us create the most stunning new website ever! We want you!!

Sunday, January 31st 2010.

12pm-7pm (it may go longer, if needed)

Schedule your 60 minutes (half hour for prep, half hour of shooting)

I am assuming this is going to fill fast since it is free and all –but I’m putting an end date to the sign-up.

December 31st, 2009. Can’t wait to work with you guys!!

Thank you SO very much for all the responses. I ask (beg) people to comment on a lot of different things, and it’s very rare that people actually do. I’m so happy that everyone tried to help me out. I would like to address some of the ideas mentioned in the comments so everyone can see what our thought are on the issues.

Beth – I sometimes feel like that–no matter what we do, people are going to find something to complain about. I just want everyone to be 100% happy… actually 110% happy. My business is so important to me. Aside from my family, it’s my life. I know not everyone is going to be happy 100% of the time, but I always want to try my best to make it happen, hence the reason for this HUGE PERSONAL DISPLAY OF UNCERTAINTY!!! Thanks for your kind words : )

Amber – You thoughts mean a lot since I know you deal with a lot of the same issues since you run your own business, as well. I agree with you 100% and feel like you just recited my thoughts! ”We need to do what we feel is best to represent our product”…. exactly right. Thanks for being an awesome client and now an awesome friend!

Kristy – Thanks for your thoughts! I really look forward to the day we shoot your wedding. We have talked for so long and you have been viewing our new weddings/sessions for a very long time period, so I am certain we will all work together just great! I feel like we’re friends! I can’t wait until your big day

Keli - YOU are someone I know we “mesh” with I could completely tell when we send the email getting the specifics so we could get our “prop” ideas set to go and you were so excited about the “unique things” we have planned. It makes us feel relieved that you are on board with our style and different ideas! We know it will pay off when you get the photos! I can’t wait for the Engagement Session in Chicago on our anniversary! I can’t think of a better way to spend the day… with a fun couple, doing what we love (truly), and in our favorite city. Excitement! See you soon!!!

Lesley – I’m happy to hear you like the way we post are are impressed by our shots! Your unique wedding was just right for the style we shoot. You guys were/are great to work with. We have, in fact, added complete specifics to the different times it will take to start viewing/receiving photos in the 2010 contract. That was done because of this issue, so I’m hoping the 2010 couples are fully aware of the different time periods and are completely fine with it because of that!

Jona – A questionnaire is currently in the making. I’m planning on using it more so for meetings and not for couples to decide what they want but rather to see if we all “mesh”. I have read countless time (without really understanding) how photographers specifically decide who they work with. They want to make sure their is a connection. I just figured “it’s work–be kind, do your job, and everyone will be happy”. Now am able to 100% fully understand the reason they do this. Eric and I have a specific style. People are drawn to our style when they see the site. They tell us how much they love out work and our “different ideas”, but then when we shoot their wedding, we realize that they definitely should have hired a more traditional style photographer. So, it’s very important for us to meet or chat online(which we already do, but for other reasons), really get to know they specific styles they are looking for, explain how much time we put into the photos and then see if we everyone feels we’re a good match! We do currently have 2 forms we send out to couples. The first is our Photo Form, which gets sent with pricing. We get the basic info and what their are looking for (we ask about style, too) with this one. Then there is the “getting to know you” form. This was created specifically to understand exactly what our couples wanted. It’s helped a bit… but the new questionnaire will definitely take it’s place and include a lot more specifics!

Erica — You guys were great We definitely meshed and had a great time shooting your wedding and day after/trash the dress session! We are so happy to hear how pleased you are with your photos!

Chris + Stephanie (since you both said the same thing in a way!) — That is really what we were considering–giving them the option. Last year we shot an off season wedding and gave the couple a good deal. Because of the good deal, she told us we just didn’t need to worry about editing the photos. Well, there was no way I would give anyone unedited photos. The though of doing that had never even crossed my mind at that point. We shot the gorgeous wedding and the couple was great and so easy to work with. I decided I was going to, of course, edit their photos–it’s my work and I wanted it to be perfect. I’m not sure if they needed them quickly or what, but I decided to edit everything except the regular “dancing” by all the guests. Now, I see those exact photos posted on Facebook. They are not bad, just unfinished, and because of that, it makes me cringe. So, I just can’t imagine that happening with a lot of couples. It doesn’t feel right. I don’t know if I would be able to give the option. I want the photos to be perfect for my clients and my business.

Hanna - : )

Jenn – It’s been great to working since you are one of the first people who we have worked with who knows first hand that 1 year is a typical time for photographers to show/give the photos to their clients… AND that most photographers don’t edit the photos, and if they do, it’s like 50-75 favorites or something. With the portraits–we actually got critiques to change it to the way we have now! We used to put so many and let couples choose, but it was hard for everyone else (family + friends) to really see all of the important details (weird faces, eyes closed, looking in the wrong direction, etc) on the site, so they had asked us to narrow it down to the photos that were best of the whole group…. so we did. Like I said, everybody is different, and I’m realizing now–you just can’t please everyone no matter how hard you try! Aside from that, I am glad you are happy with everything. Congrats on winning the “be thankful” contest, and we look forward to shooting your maternity session!

Jessica – Thanks for your thoughts, best friend. : )

Lindsey – I supposed I did already give my thoughts on this in my response to Chris + Stephanie’s thoughts. Thank you for your comment. Specific times have been in the 2010 contract and will always remain there, so we are definitely completely upfront now : )

Liz – I am happy to get a response from you since you are a photographer and a client who is currently experiencing the waiting process! I definitely know about “teasers” and used to do them. I love the idea and know couples do, too. I “stopped” doing them for a reason. Being the perfectionist that I am, it is so hard for me to just go through and pick 10 -15 to post on the blog. I did this with a couple weddings, and then once I had finished the wedding, I had sooo many others I would have rather posted to showcase our work and better describe the story of the day. When I did it, I would spend so long on those blog posts, only to later wish I would have waited until the end so I could go through the entire fully edited wedding so I could post the best possible images (which is what our blog is for). I feel like doing them before I edited the wedding in full only took time away from the actual editing process. Everything takes so much more time than it appears to. I have decided to do “full wedding” posts once I have completed the wedding instead of doing teasers right now. I just like being able to choose from every photo and make the post the best it possibly can be. I like making the post a story and going through the full day. When browsing the blogs I currently follow, it seems like their teasers are posted about 4 weeks or so after the wedding anyway–which is when we start posting the Online Gallery, so technically you get more with our first Online Gallery post than you would with a teaser anyway…?? I think : ) I may try to do teasers again beforehand in the future if/when things slow down, but for now, we will be keeping it like this.

Nikki + Johnathan – Once again, I know you guys totally get our style, and we can’t wait to work with you. I knew when you asked initially if every photo was edited and what software we used to edit that you were going to be a couple that appreciates what we do and allows us to do our job the way we feel is best. When I put myself in the bride’s shoes, I just can’t imagine not having completed photos. If I wanted basic snapshots that didn’t have a professional touch, I wouldn’t have have paid $1000-$5000—I would have had a family member or friend do it. I feel like the editing is half, if not more than half, of what our job + style is.

Thank you so much everyone. It’s great to see that this many people care to give their two cents. We absolutely love our jobs and love our couples. I know that impatience can get the best of us sometimes–especially when you are waiting for something so special. I just want to make it known that we are working our little tails off and always want you to be completely satisfied. There is so much behind the scenes work to this job that everyone is not able to see. It is just the two of us. We photograph, we edit, we do the site, the blog, the orders, the shipping, the advertising, the albums, the products, the customer care… and so on. Please be patient and know that the wait is for a reason. We treat everyone’s photos like they are our wedding photos and want them to be perfect for you. We are so honored to be chosen to capture your special day and are only satisfied with giving you the best.

I will post an update with any changes we plan to make.

The next post will have photos!! It’s about time I do a photo post since this is a photography blog and not a soap opera.

We are reconsidering the way we do things around here and would appreciate everybody’s input tremendously.

As of now, this is how we work (and this is mainly for weddings):

Your wedding takes place, we shoot it, yadda yadda, come home and put everything on our mac and 2 different external hard drives to back it up.

We go through and sort all sections of the day and put them into subfolders (bride prep, groom prep, ceremony, portraits, details, etc.). We take about 2,000 combined.

We then go back through all of those folders and delete and of the bad, unusable images.

We then start with the first folder we plan to post (typically details or prep) and go through and do our picks to narrow it down.

After that, we use Photoshop cs4 to open all of the raw images. We go through and do basic editing (exposure correction, spot removal, color correction, modern cropping, etc.).

Then, after all of the photos from that section have received basic editing, we save them to a folder. Then, we open up about 6 at a time for the extreme editing (what makes our photos stand out).

We are perfectionists when it comes to our photos. The “extreme editing” can take anywhere from 3-10 minutes per photo, depending on what all we want to do and the photo’s importance.

Once that section of the day has received all of it’s “extreme editing”, we have to transfer all of the photos to our “uploading computer”, and then we post a “sub-gallery” to your Online Gallery.

We continue this process until all the sub-galleries are complete. We edit every photo.

Then, we send out the photo cd–right after we finish editing… no waiting until your 1 year anniversary like nearly every other photographer.

Your proofs are ordered and shipped to you after that–typically right after… sometimes they come with the photo cd.

Then we get to work on any albums or add-ons you ordered with your package and ship those as soon as they come in.

So, as you can see, editing is a process. Shooting the wedding is the fun, easy part–not that we don’t enjoy editing–that’s a definite MUST if you do what we do : ) It’s just, the “behind the scenes” work that no one really knows about or understands the amount of time + effort we put into it, can get tricky! So here is what makes us a little different:

We double-edit every single photo before posting it to your gallery. We believe that every photo should be at it’s 100% best, therefore we do that instead of the typical photographer’s style–”post everything as-is or with very basic editing and then only edit the photos ordered and/or selected from albums/products”. We want your photo cd to be full of beautiful photos, magazine-worthy ; )

We post as we edit. Most photographers post the gallery once they have completed all of the images from the wedding. We like to post each sub-gallery as we finish. We get so many couples telling us how they love that we do that. It gives them something to look forward to, and it’s not all over at once like it would be if we did it the other way. Plus, they get to see photos a lot sooner than they would if we waited until the end.

We have always sent out the photo cds right when we were done editing (typically 4-6 months during wedding seasons) instead of making couples wait until the 1 year anniversary to receive it. Even now, with our 2010 coverage, couples will get a proof cd sent out right when we are done editing. This will have a smaller, watermarked versions of all of their images. So couples still won’t have to wait a year before having a photo cd in hand.

We give couples A LOT of pictures. Ask any of our previous clients. : )

Now, here is a breakdown of different happenings that have now caused us to rethink the way we do things.

Editing every photo to the extent we do takes time (which we think it’s 100% work it when you’re comparing the rest of your life to an extra 2-3 months wait time). We are considering going the route of the typical photographer (yuck) and posting the photos with little or no editing to satisfy the needs of those who can’t wait any longer!! We would then just “extreme edit” those images that are ordered for prints and products. Your photo cd would not be filled with edited photos–just the basic ones.

Posting as we edit. This is tricky. We love it, and couples say they do, too. But–it causes a problem. People are able to see one sub gallery go up and then feel like they are waiting too long for the next… when they aren’t really taking into consideration the fact that they wouldn’t typically get to see any of the photos otherwise!! We are working on many weddings + sessions at once, so we have to balance our posting out between all of them. That is why there is a wait time between each sub gallery posting. So, our new thoughts are to go the other route and post when we have completed your wedding 100%.

People tend to think they are waiting too long but don’t consider the fact that when all is said and done, they get their photo cds in hand in less than half the time the typical photographer gives them out (the one year mark)–plus the posting as we finish each sub gallery thing as I said up there….

So. This is what has been going on in the mind of Ashley. I want only the best for our couples. They chose us to capture one if not the most important day of their lives. We want every photo to tell a story, to show truth and be beautiful. We receive many compliments on our site and the work we have posted there (thank you!)… we feel it’s only right to give our couples that quality of work. Who would want to hire a photographer who has gorgeous images on their website only for them to give you plain, mediocre images that didn’t receive any time and effort. I would feel tricked into thinking I was getting something I was not.

If you have taken the time to read this, I thank you for caring!  I just feel like I have a one sided view of things and would LOVE LOVE LOVE the input of  clients, future clients, random strangers, ANYONE!  This is my main question, which is;

THE POLL:

a) I agree with the thinking of ae photography, that even though one may be anxious to see their photos, waiting the extra time for them to look 100x better is totally worth it. I would be willing to wait to have each and every photo look it best. I paid a lot for these photos, they will be with me forever, and I want them to look wonderful!

b) I would much rather prefer to see my photos in the Online Gallery as fast as possible, even if that means they don’t get the extra editing. I only care about getting the photos I order/choose for products edited and don’t feel like all of the others need that kind of attention.

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT WITH “a” OR “b” LETTING ME KNOW WHAT YOU PREFER. I DON’T CARE WHO YOU ARE, WHERE YOU LIVE, WHETHER YOUR MARRIED OR NOT!!! This is a big change for us, and I really would like the thoughts of people other than myself (after all–that is who I’m trying to please!) Even if you would like to remain “anonymous” — that is totally fine with me! I just want a long list of peoples’ opinions.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU

-ae

We are cleaning house and have decide to sell some of our equipment since we recently purchased some new stuff

FIRST: A NEW MacBook! (about $1100 with tax)

INFO: Last month we bought two new MacBooks so we could each have one for the road. Turns out we only need one, as I just prefer a bigger screen to edit on, because that’s what I’m used to. I, of course, feel in love with the clean, sleek look–so I wanted MY OWN! But, it’s never actually been “used” and, turns out, it never will be – so I have decided to sell it. We did put Photoshop CS4 ($699) and Lightroom 2 ($299) on it the day we bought it–so you will get that, as well! We loaded a bunch of great actions, brushes and textures, as well! If you want to know the specific actions, etc.–just let us know, and we will send you a list. This is definitely a HUGE plus for any photographers about there. Totally Rad Actions Original, Totally Rad Actions “The Revenge”, everything Atomic Cupcake, Pioneer Woman Action Set…to name a few of the goodies! Be sure to take a look at the official sites for the software so you can see the pricing for those. We are also including a black laptop case we had for it (about $35)… so you will be set to go It is $1100 new (tax included). It obviously comes with the box, manuals and manufacturers warranty (1 year), as it is brand new! Shipping would be based on where you live, so send your zip when you email us. Here is the official site so you can view the photos and specs of the MacBook!

SECOND: Samsung LCD HDTV 22 inch 720p (Retail $249.99)

INFO: This tv is new/unused and was purchased for our DeKalb studio. Once we closed it and moved the studio to our home, we no longer needed it. We have plenty of TVs in our home and one that will be used specifically in the studio area… so this lovely new tv is for sale It is all black, sleek and widescreen. It was purchased toward the end of the September at Best Buy. It comes with the original box and manuals, of course. The description says it offers crisp, bold, more realistic pictures–which is very true and was very important to us when we purchased it for the studio. The point of the TV was to show clients their images and films, and we definitely wanted something with a clear, crisp, vivid picture! Keep in mind the tax you would be paying when purchasing it from a store.

THIRD: Canon 5D + 1 battery (retails for $2499.99 (body only))

INFO: The 5d is a full frame (wonderful), 12.8 megapixel camera. It has 2.5 inch LCD, which is big and lovely, so it make is much easier to see your images! Retail price on the Canon website for the BODY ONLY is $2499.99. Read the specs!!

We currently have way too many cameras! While it’s an absolute must for us to have back ups, we feel we have way more than enough–we we have decided to sell one of our beloved 5d cameras. This is by far the best camera we have ever owned. We have a 5d Mark II–the regular 5d is better (in our opinion). We have a new 7d–the regular 5d is MUCH better ( in our opinion). We, of course, will still we be keeping a 5d for ourselves, because it love it so very much–but this one is for sale! We have to have the 5d Mark II and the 7d for their video options, otherwise, we would just be sticking the the plain 5d all the way!

We bought this 5d used (as we did our other) and it has been perfectly fine. We did just get it cleaned a couple days ago to get it ready to sell. There is still a bit of dust in the sensor, so the buyer will have to take care of that if they find it’s a problem. Other than that–the camera is in perfect condition. Keep in mind the tax with this one, too!!!

We are including (1) battery with the camera so you will be ready to go! If you are looking for a cheap charger, I would check out this!

FOURTH: CANON BG-E4 batter Grip (retail $340) plus 1 extra Canon Battery

INFO: The battery grip (BG-E4) is a total must for a wedding photographer! It makes it so much easier to hold and get the shot you want. We don’t have one for our 7d yet, and it drives me crazy! Plus, it makes you camera look like a beast (what every photographer wants, of course!) The main thing is that it prolongs your battery life! We almost always NEVER have to switch out our batteries during an entire wedding when we have the grip on! That is such a big deal to us. We are including an extra battery. We assume if you are buying the grip, you already have a 5d, which comes with a battery. This extra battery will fit in the grip, which holds 2 batteries! It is not a canon brand battery, but works just as good. We’ve never had a problem–it doesn’t die faster or anything like that!

FIFTH: Tamron 28-80 3.5 Lens (retail $399.95)

INFO: This lens has a great range, from a wide 28mm to a medium telephoto range of 88mm. Read the specs. We are selling this lens because we already have the range covered with many of our other lenses, so it rarely gets used. Tamron provides very good lenses at affordable prices and this particular lens has great reviews! I would definitely suggest this lens as a great starter lens that offers a very good range at an affordable price! It is like new, with no scratches or problems of any kind! It has never been dropped and has been well taken care of

SIXTH: HP Photo Scanner 1000 (retail price $179.99)

INFO: I used this scanner I don’t know how many times. It’s the perfect, compact 4×6 size, which is obviously the most popular size. We just got a new scanner, printer, copier (so desperately needed!) on Black Friday for $25 bucks!! Haha. So, we now longer need this one. It’s been a gem, though… and it is very easy to use.

SEVENTH: Canon 17-40 f4L (canon retail price $839.99)

INFO: We also have this focal length covered through our other lenses, so it hardly ever gets used. It’s an ultra-wize zoom lens, and I like it because it’s not too wide. I find that with our canon 16-35, anything near the edge of the frames gets very distorted. The 17-40 doesn’t really have that problem. and, of course, it’s an L Series, so it’s made from Canon’s best glass and is a high end professional lens. We have owned it for a year or less (can’t really remember) but it’s like new. It has never been damaged or dropped and has no scratches. Read the specs.
