“be thankful” and the winner is….

Once again, we really want to thank those of you who entered. We both loved reading the entries–some of which made me tear up. We plan to have many more contests, seeing as how much we enjoyed this one! The next one will be posted soon! So those of you who didn’t win (it was VERY hard for us to pick… we contemplated just choosing everyone! But, then we decided that really wasn’t how the contest was supposed to go, so…) please enter the upcoming contests for another shot!

We did, however, decide to change it up a bit! Instead of just having 1 winner, there will be a first place winner, a 2nd place winner (which will receive a mini session of their choice for only $100) and a 3rd place winner (which will receive a mini session of their choice at half off)!!

We didn’t think it was fair to ask all of you to share what you are thankful for with us without sharing what we are thankful for. Eric wrote his paragraph in the living room while I wrote mine in the office–which is pretty much how everything business related goes! I definitely enjoyed reading his… I thought about picking him as the winner ; ) haha.

Horray! Maggie’s bridal shots were featured on Smitten the blog. Something to brighten my day Go there and check them out.

I am deathly ill today. I’v been under the weather for awhile, but it’s awful right now. Hopefully I will recover soon. *Please don’t let it be the swine* That said, I’m going to bed. At 9:18 pm. Anyone who knows me knows this hasn’t happened since I was in grade school.

We haven’t edited much of Jake and Maggie’s wedding yet, but I wanted to share some of the bridal shots we just posted to their gallery a few days ago. We just loved the style of their wedding. I absolutely LOVE her dress and headpiece–totally something I would pick for my wedding. We will do a full wedding blog post for them in the future, but for now, here is a sneak peek of the gorgeous Maggie on her wedding day.

Here we have our favorite images from our session with the gorgeous Jenn. We want to thank the Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum for graciously letting us shoot a large part of our session there! It worked out great. We shot there, around Briggs Mansion, CRU(wine + cheese shop–thank you, as well!) and in the streets and sidewalks of downtown Rockford. We like getting a mix of different textures and backdrops for every session–it’s a must.

Tomorrow we will be photographing Maggie and Jake’s wedding in Sterling, IL. She gave me a heads up on some neat things that will be happening during the ceremony, so we are very much looking forward to shooting it! I love it when brides think outside the box ; )

Here is a quick sneak peek of the fashion bridal session we shot for Jenn awhile back. There are so many great ones–she was very easy to photograph : ) We will have our favorites form the session posted on Friday. We already photographed Jenn + Bill’s wedding in July. Photos to come sometime in the future!

P.S. I’m serious about this “a post a day” thing. I just need the comments to keep me going ; )
